The highlights were large rafts of Canvasback, many Common Golden-eye and of course, many Tundra Swan. It was nice to see all the Bluebirds & Robins working the road shoulders and bare spots in the fields. Two thrashers were also observed on the road to Bogel's Wharf. Eastern Towhees were plentiful and Carolina Wrens were singing. We also had good looks at Swamp Sparrows. Chesapeake Farms (was Remmington Farms) had only the main pond open and it held a few Northern Shovelers. The highlight of the trip was a large group of White-throated (no count) and White-crowned Sparrows (30-40 in the bushes along the drive to the main pond at Chesapeake Farms.
