Saturday afternoonat low tide (still ebbing) had many short looks at 2 adult RAZO as theyfed in the tide line with large #'s of RTLO,COLO, and 1-2 HOGR, had apossible very quick look at a LITTLE GULL that has been reported earlierbut the look was so brief I hesitate to mention. Also had close-up looksat PUSA, RUTU, and SAND. Tried again (5X) for the TUDU at Rehoboth withanother "K". Ran into a birder at the OC inlet who metioned he had seena COMMON BLACK-HEADED GULL at Spring Lake on Saturday and that it waswith all the RING-Billed GULLS. I did a quick run up to Rehoboth and wasfortunate to observe a very nervous looking 1st winter CBHG that wastrying to compete for food with many RBGU. The two-toned red bill wasvery prominent as was the broad terminal dark band on the tail. Somebooks I have seen show two marks on the side of the head (ear patch) butthis bird only had the one mark as it is shown in the NGS 2nd edition. Ihope this bird sticks around for awhile as it is easy to spot and in anaccessable area. If you go looking for this bird be aware that this lakeis in private property and we should treat the owners and the parkingarea with respect. Thanks to all.
