This would sure make things easier for someone of my skill level. Thank you. Saturday afternoon at low tide (still ebbing) had many short looks at 2 adult RAZO as they fed in the tide line with large #'s of RTLO,COLO, and 1-2 HOGR, had a possible very quick look at a LITTLE GULL that has been reported earlier but the look was so brief I hesitate to mention. Also had close-up looks at PUSA, RUTU, and SAND. Tried again (5X) for the TUDU at Rehoboth with another "K". Ran into a birder at the OC inlet who metioned he had seen a COMMON BLACK-HEADED GULL at Spring Lake on Saturday and that it was with all the RING-Billed GULLS. I did a quick run up to Rehoboth and was fortunate to observe a very nervous looking 1st winter CBHG that was trying to compete for food with many RBGU. The two-toned red bill was very prominent as was the broad terminal dark band on the tail. Some books I have seen show two marks on the side of the head (ear patch) but this bird only had the one mark as it is shown in the NGS 2nd edition. I hope this bird sticks around for awhile as it is easy to spot and in an accessable area. If you go looking for this bird be aware that this lake is in private property and we should treat the owners and the parking area with respect. Thanks to all.
