The HOODED MERGANSERS were still present but the large group had broken up and they were scattered all over the lake. Other waterfowl - CANVASBACKS 3, RING-NECKED DUCKS 28, BUFFLEHEAD 2 - but no red-breasted merganser (drat!). Other nice sightings were 3 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS -perched nicely in the thickets. The light leg color contrasting with BLACK feet was very clear in the bright sunshine. A lone skulking CATBIRD and single flyover AMERICAN PIPIT. Can't wait for the flyovers to really get started!!
