I think the submerged wetland where you saw the Wood Ducks is the Quaker Swamp area. Part of that swamp is now part of Flag Ponds. On Tuesday I stopped along Route 4 to scope the Bald Eagle nest which can be seen just beyond the knoll of Loblolly Pines in the swamp (close to the road). Look way up the swamp just past the pines for a beech tree to see the nest (it's way back there). With my scope I could see a bird on the nest. This nest was discovered by the park ranger, Connie Sutton, as she was exploring the new Flag Ponds acquisition. DNR was not aware of this nest (but they are now). I guess I should have looked down into the swamp on Tuesday, I might have seen the Wood Ducks! ///////// Arlene Ripley | || Calvert County, MD | 0 || aripley@nestbox.com | || http://www.nestbox.com || ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
