No luck in finding it but the waterfowl present were: HOODED MERGANSERS 3 pair RING-NECKED DUCK 2 pair RUDDY DUCK 11 PIED-BILLED GREBE ** first this spring There were quite a few gulls with 5 GREAT-BLACK BACKED, HERRING a=nd RING-BILLS. A great opportunity to study them at close range and different plumages. The woods were filled with birds in the full spring song and activities. Two SAPSUCKERS were calling, a GOLDEN-CROWN KINGLET was gleaning for food- he never found a morsel the entire time I was watching him. I heard my fist JUNCO sing and the RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were courting. I popped over to Centennial park and in the large 35+ flock of RING-NECKED DUCKS was a single LESSER SCAUP.
