We tracked down the bird and found it to be a Carolina Chickadee doing a very good rendition of a Brown-headed Nuthatch. A Brown-headed Nuthatch was reported north of Rock Hall in summer 1989 and multiple bird=s have been reported on the Lower Kent CBC twice but I have no details on these. One wintered in Baltimore County across the bay from Kent County =in 1994. So they may wander. Piney Creek in Queen Anne's County was former=ly the most northerly spot near the bay where they could be found regularly.
