We went to Cape Henlopen, and Silver lake. It was a great day for birding. At Cape Henlopen we visited the seldom traveled saltmarsh spur tr=ail. The highlight their was the many BROWN HEADED NUTHATCHES. There were six or more of these, and the best view was of 3 posing on a tree about 15 feet away. We also went to the point, though you can not walk down it for it is closed already for the piping plover nesting area. There we saw 4+ RED BREASTED MERGs, 100+ canvasbacks, many GBB Gulls, DC Comrants and a Common Loon. Then we went to Silver lake, which was a great experience, especi=ally for many of our new birders. We saw 100's of Canvasbacks, Greater, and lesser scaups, an American coot, and much more Total List, including car birding, includes 36 Birds Ring Billed Gull Herring Gull Greater Back Backed Gull Laughing gull- strange for this time of the year.
