Well, those "accurate and dependable" weather forecasts lived up to my expectations, and I got to dash out Tridelphia Reservoir/Brighton Dam at 12:45 with only a passing shot of sleet. While scanning the Common Mergansers, found a male Red-breasted. On the way out, dropped into Centennial for a very CURSORY look, and didn't see the RB Merg of yesterday. It was only a quick glance at Centennial, did NOT explore every nook and cranny of the shoreline. SO the Tridelphia RB Merg could be the same as yesterday's one at Centennial. The grand total: Black Duck 7 Common Merganser 50+ Red-breasted Merganser 1 (male) Herring Gull 15+ Greater Black-backed Gull 1 (1st Winter? Look, I'm TRYING to age them!) Not a Canada Goose to be seen. No Ring-billed Gulls! No Mallards! From rt. 108 in Clarksville, take Ten Oaks Rd. (a right turn from southbound). Take the left fork onto Brighton Dam Rd, keep going until you cross the dam, park on the left. You'll want a scope, though excellent views of C. Mergs can sometimes be had with binos from the edge of the dam. The mergs tend to flush when you walk out onto the dam.
