This is our first trip to Blackwater as a group. Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is a large refuge on the lower Eastern Shore. Lots of salt marshes, impoundments & some trails for Brown-headed Nuthatch(?). Hopefully, we'll see some spring migrants, in addition to our winter staple - ducks, ducks & more ducks. Meeting Place: Big Elk Mall, Dunkin Doughnuts Parking Lot. (As always, it's a good idea to carpool.) Time: 7:00 am (full day trip). Suggested equipment: boots, lunch, cold weather gear & a spotting scope. Conveniences: Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center has field guides, souvenirs, novelties, etc. (no food?) AND bathrooms. Admission: $3.00 is required for the Wildlife Drive, unless you have the appropriate pass (i.e. Duck Stamp, etc.). Questions: Sean McCandless 410-392-3407 Parke. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
