Not much to offer but here it is. 100 Canada Geese flying north (migrants w/ luggage) 3/4 Redtail Hawk 3/4 Turkey Vulture -1 3/4 Woodcocks displaying 3/2, 3/3, & 3/4 Two migrant Herring Gulls 3/4 12 Morning Doves 3/5 Barred Owl calling 3/3 around midnight Belted Kingfisher just down the road - a flyby on 3/2 Red-bellied Woodpeckers male/female in very fresh plumage but I still could not see the red blush on the bellies Hairy Woodpecker 4 Downy Woodpeckers Phoebe calling 3/2 - Gwen Bluejays 8 regulars 7 Carolina Chickadees 6 Tufted Titmouse 3 White-breasted Nuthatches 2 Carolina Wrens - one very dark Male Bluebird studying the property 3/2 from the tree top 17 Robins passing through 1 Hermit Thrush eating peanut and sunflowers 1 Mockingbird 12 Starlings in very fine plumage 42 Juncos 16 White-throated Sparrow 1 (first of the year) Fox Sparrow 14 Cardinals 2 Grackles One Cowbird flyby 16 House Finches 14 Goldfinches Further afield on 3/4 we visited Carol Ghebelian's feeder in Indian Head to tick my first March Oriole, a young female. We then went to Marshall Hall to Bob Lukinic's to see his young male Baltimore Oriole that has been around since early February. Oh well, maybe the next blizzard will be more productive.
