Bald Eagles over Glen Echo/Bethesda MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit It was a tough sky to id anything, but about 11-11:30am two large 'black' birds were soaring over Glen Echo, coming in (east) fairly low from the Potomac, then soaring very high moving west toward Bethesda. Did anybody else see them? Their heads appeared to be about half the size of their tails, unlike Goldens (didn't appear to be any white in the tail, either). Their wings did appear mottled white underneath and very 'buteo'-like. They were also generally flat during soaring, definitely not Turkey Vultures. Until they moved further west (and out of the sun's glare), it was hard to tell anything about them. Except, BIG. Very big.
