MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Hello MD Birders, I received an email today from an architect looking to make a career switch. Here's his message: "I would like to contribute and learn about bird banding, identification and monitoring. I am in the process of investigating the pursuit of a second career in wildlife biology with a focus on ornithology. As a registered architect this will be a significant transition yet I feel my current skills of using a methodology in gathering information and using analytical thought to solve problems and illustrate them graphically will however still be applicable. This summer I am going to enroll in a Biology course with the intent of beginning a masters program in wildlife biology in the Fall of 2002. I would be interested in assisting individuals performing ongoing or short term ornithological projects even if it is in a basic unskilled way such as recording observations or any other hands on work. Please let me know if you foresee any positions that may be appropriate for my skills doing bird banding or if you have any other suggestions or contacts for contributing to ornithological projects in the region." He's in Alexandria so I'm guessing he's looking to volunteer in the DC metro area. I have some ideas for him but am sure you can come up with many more. Thanks!
