Just earlier I saw a family of 3 bald eagles, one had caught a fish at Patuxent's National Wildlife Visitor's Center Lake Reddinger, then all 3 spiraled and soared 1/2 mile up into the sky. In the morning at Rt. 301 and Rt. 197 we saw a Red tailed hawk. At Rt. 301 in Upper Marlboro at East Depot Pond we saw an Osprey, 2 Mute Swans, 10 Yellow-Rump Warblers, 8 Ring-Necked ducks, 2 Mockingbirds, some Juncos and White-Throats. At Schoolhouse Pond, we saw 2 Gadwall, 4 Northern Shovelers, 2 Mute swans, 1 Bewick/Whooper, 1 Red-Breasted Merganser, 1 Pied-Bill Grebe, many Coots. heard a Phoebe? on the boardwalk. Before lunch at North Beach, we saw 10 Greater Scaup (2 cinnamon females with white foreheads) 30 yellow banded Eared-Grebes, 30-50 Buffleheads. Harry.Lotis@mms.gov and Tom Hartnett ========================================================================= Hi, About 3000 Canada Geese, nearly 100 Tundra Swan, 28 Green-winged Teal, 9 American Wigeon, 8 Mallard and 8 Common Merganser headed straight north over my work at Fallston Vet Clinic on Belair Rd between 5:12pm and 6:11pm today. What a beautiful sight seeing several species of waterfowl in mixed flocks. I have a actual count on my sheet, but didn't have time to do it on computer, I gotta leave now to finish my homework before bed.
