Black oil sunflower seed, saflower seed, sunflower chips and suet with a high insect content were the primary food offered, Carolina = Chickadee, and Brown-Headed Nuthatch were the most frequent visitors, however Pine Warblers as many as 4 on occasion would visit the feeders. The suet was the favorite but on occasion would visit the tube and platform feeder especially during periods of inclement weather or when the suet was being guarded by Bushy Tailed Tree Rats aka Gray Squirrels. I dont recall seeing aggresive behavior from other bird species, however during winter I had few occasions to see American Goldfinch as I was quite deep in the pine woods at Point Lookout. As an aside I saw my first OSPREY today on Smith Island. A lone female at day marker #3 and she appered occupied as she looked skyward towards the SE. Perhaps her beau would be galling this evening (Island word for courting).
