It was very active looking for food, but there was no airborne insect activity. The previous earliest in Carroll County was April 1, a record that stood for 22 years. There are only 2 or 3 earlier for the state. Typically Barn Swallows arrive in the fourth week of March in most of the state. On the 3rd I saw 1 Phoebe in Westminster.
