MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Although I had an endearing , pleasant morning walking around Wilde = Lake, I came across a disturbing sight... First the nice sightings for me, ... 1 canvass back, about 6-10 ruddy = ducks, 6 ring billed ducks, 3 female red breasted mergansers and though = there were the usual song birds/red shoulder hawks and sparrows... a very cheery Song Sparrow serenaded me (and my dog) while perched on a = very open, eye level, leafless bush/tree. I had a very, very good view = of him but what was most comical is that once he noticed I was watching = him, he seemed as if he couldn't decide whether he should move or not. = I felt as if I could feel/see him think about it, moving his head about, = looking around. Once he decided to stay put, he seemed quite at ease w/ = his decision and proceeded to serenade us. It was really cute. Now the disturbing observation:=20 As I neared the southside of the dam, I saw about a dozen or so dead = fish floating right at the edge amidst some icky mucky dirty water..they = were pretty big..possibly trout.. Minutes before I had seen one dead half eaten fish on the grassy area. = Then I saw a couple of mallards hanging out on the bank and next to them = was a dead fish. But it wasn't until I got to the edge of the dam that = I was appalled to see so many dead fish. Perhaps they died of natural causes. Nevertheless, it was a disturbing = sight. :-( Carol Garza Wilde Lake, Columbia, Md Howard County cgarza@starpower.net ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
