Triadelphia Reservoir: 1 Common Loon 275-300 Common Mergansers 3/18 at Hughes Hollow: 2 Northern Pintail (m & f) many Wood Ducks (though not as many as last Saturday) adult male REDHEAD many Ring-necked Ducks as many as 12 American Wigeon Red-tailed, Red-shouldered and Sharp-shinned Hawks Winter Wren 3/18 at Riley's Lock at Seneca Creek: 1 Double-crested Cormorant flying up river 1 Common Loon 2 Horned Grebes 1 Eastern Phoebe (singing) 1 adult Red-shouldered Hawk flying right over our heads. As it flew over I said it was carrying nesting material, but it turned out to be a large frog, legs dangling, and the bird heading back into the woods and disappeared.
