Am definitely loosing it. Harvey Mudd wins the Caroline County Classic Common Merganser Shootout with 71 on March 18 vs. our 56 the previous day. RE his March 21 post we found the Ridgely wastewater ponds closed last Saturday. It is possible to see in a little by standing on the car roof. In the case of my Chevrolet Suburban this gives my eyeballs c. 10 feet elevation. Nice going, Danny Poet, with the dozen or so Lapland Longspurs. It really hurts to miss them and it would be a "large charge" to see a male or two going into breeding plumage (and perhaps singing ... in Maryland?). Late notice but I am leading a birdwalk at Blackwater N.W.R. tomorrow starting at the V.C. at 8, them messing around elsewhere in Dorchester County the rest of the day if anyone would like to accompany this 60-year-old wreck. Sunday promises to be colder and windier than many Christmas counts have been. Best to all-Harry Armistead, 523 E.
