The turnout was great of both birds and birders. = Mike Kerwin was leading and he must have notified the raptors in = advance. We got off to a great start with an adult BALD EAGLE. We had a = half a dozen migrant RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS. A single OSPREY was a = season's first for many. A SHARP- SHINNED blew through also. The swallows were filtering through with TREE, NORTHERN-ROUGH = WINGED and BARN new for the spring for most of us. A flyover COMMON = SNIPE was spotted but none were seen down on the islands.=20 -------------------------------------------------------------------------= ----- Later in the morning a few of continued on to Triadelphia and = environs.=20 =20 Elliott Rd pond- 3 LESSER SCAUP and a single PURPLE MARTIN Pigtail- male NORTHERN HARRIER (a real treat!) OSPREY, more = RED-TAILS and RED-SHOULDERS . A singing WINTER WREN and on the water 1 = REDHEAD, 60 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 1 COMMON LOON, 6 COMMON MERGANSERS and 1 = HORNED GREBE.
