They were everywhere. The pine woods were literally ringing with their song. I had great looks at some brilliant males singing their hearts out. Others, perhaps newer arrivals, were industriously foraging. A single pish while standing in a dense pine growth instantly brought an indignant male chipping loudly right at eye level. These moments make you remember how much you love birding!! BLACK/WHITE WARBLER was also heard. Unfortunately the back part of the forest with the great trail around the pond was closed off. I expect WORM EATING W. will soon be along to the forest as well.
