(I was recruited to lead an earth day = event there). It was a lovely spot off of Triadelphia Lake road. The = place was very active with singing FOX SPARROWS everywhere. There was a = newly arrived SOLITARY VIREO singing snatches of song. PINE WARBLERS = totaled 6 singing birds. Many GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS and a single RUBY = CROWNED. EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, PHOEBES, PILEATED WOODPECKERS and COMMON = MERGANSERS were a delight for the new birders.=20 On the Howard side a quick check off GREENBRIDGE turned up 17 COMMON = LOONS. 2 on the water and 15 flyovers. There was a single HORNED GREBE = and the BALD EAGLES were present. =20 Yesterday on the Gwynn Acres birding by ear walk we were rewarded = with 4-5 singing WINTER WRENS. We had extraordinary looks at = YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS and observed them drinking at sap wells.=20 =20 Bonnie Ott Ellicott city,Howard County Field trip chair bott@erols.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
