Comments: To: VA Birds , Voice MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit This morning (Tues, 4/3), I saw both OSPREY and PEREGRINE on the railroad bridge over the Potomac, as seen from the Metro Yellow line. There was one OSPREY sitting on the nest on the Virginia side of the trestle and a pair of PEREGRINES on the DC side of the same trestle. As with my Peregrine sighting from 2 weeks ago just downstream from here (at Gravelly Point), I could see a size difference in the birds, suggesting a pair bond. And presumably these are the same individuals. Is it too far fetched to think that the PEREGRINES might actually nest on the same bridge as a pair of OSPREYS? I realize that they're not competing for food, but I would still expect each species to want a little more breathing room. Any thoughts?
