I am relatively sure this location is in Silver Spring. Night Heron I don't know if I missed a report of this yet or not, but I observed a single nesting Yellow Crowned Night Heron in Sligo Creek about 1/8 mile (west??) from the intersection of Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring (could be Takoma Park). I'm new to the area, so I'm not sure about which town I was actually in. The nest was near a park with a jungle-gym. It looks like there could be at least one more nest in the vicinity, but no occupants on the nest at the moment.
