Avenue in Bethesda to the Washington Canoe Club in Georgetown had 46 species for the morning and a number of interesting sightings in the DC portion: most notable were 2 singing YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS (first of the year for me) and 1 PINE WARBLER near Fletcher's Boathouse Other sightings of note were 3 N. ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS and 3 BARN SWALLOWS also near Fletcher's, and 2 PIED-BILLED GREBE 4 BLUE-WINGED TEAL 5 WOOD DUCK 3 RING-NECKED DUCK and 2 AMERICAN COOT in the quiet pools just above Chain Bridge. Together with numerous DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT flying and perched in sycamores along the left bank we had at least 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS. RUBY-CRESTED KINGLETS were singing their delightful song at 2 different spots. Mike Bowen Bethesda MD D.H.
