Churchill" Subject: Allegany BCNH continues LA H2O Thrush, Palm Warbler The Black-crowned Night Herons reported as seen last Wednesday by Dave Perry continue at the Cumberland Terminus with 2 birds seen independently on Saturday by Ray Kiddy, Mary Twigg and myself. I only located one today (Sunday). There are lots of N. Rough-winged swallows, Tree Swallows and a few Barn Swallows at the Terminus and at Rocky Gap SP as well. I also saw a partially (perhaps mostly) albino Canada Goose that I seem to remember hearing about. It had some brown splotches on the upperparts. It was flying with 4 other non-albino Canada Geese for comparison. Also at Rocky Gap SP were 2 Common Loons, 3 PB Grebes, 2 RB Mergs, a few Am. Coots, a female Bufflehead and a pair of Ring-necked Ducks. There were a bunch of Savannah Sparrows in the grass by the Visitor's Center. The small pond on Mason Road had a Common Loon in it today !! and 5 Blue- winged Teal. On the C&O canal North of North Branch (Brehm Road) today I watched a singing Louisiana Waterthrush and Yellow Palm Warbler and a few Yellow- rumped Warblers too. A Fox Sparrow was in the thick brush very near the Canal just off of Brehm Road. Good Birding J.B.
