Also my first broadwing hawk of the season. Also heard was a blue-gray gnat catcher and a winter wren that serenaded us frequently. There were at least ten harriers today as well and lots of sharpies. Snipe are still behind my mail box and the killdeer are noisy all day and night. Friday night was the first day of toad activity that I noticed, they sang strongly with the peepers. J.
