In addition, I had an interesting photo that we have posted as a photo quiz. Try your hand at it if you feel lucky...I'll post the answer in a few weeks. Included are: LE CONTE'S SPARROW at E.A. Vaughn 18 Feb 2001 - This individual was a lifer for a number of people 18 Feb and also 12 Nov 2000. NORTHERN SHRIKE at Patuxent Naval Air Station - Also widely enjoyed MYSTERY MARTIN at Kennedyville, Kent County, 18 Nov 2000 - Probably will never be identified to species, but equally possible to have been Southern Martin (2 U.S.A. records) as Purple Martin. I am interested in any advice on how to attempt to identify this bird, though I suspect it will always be one that "got away". SANDHILL CRANE at Kent Point, Queen Anne's County in Feb - Seen by a number of people QUIZ BIRD in a pine tree at ______ on ______ - Sorry, no clues on this one... The scanned images came across on the website much darker than they are in the original scans, at least as I viewed them on my computer.
