As you may know, they come in 2 sub-species, one actually named the "Sycamore" Warbler because of its partiality to sycamores. This one is nearly always found near rivers or ponds. An example is along the C&O Canal at places like Seneca where both preferences are evident. On the Eastern Shore, they live in pine woods, especially where there are vernal pools, tho' there the preference for water seems not quite as marked; this is probably the other ("type") sub-species.
