The Warbler book by Dunn, etc., has a section about habitat for each species. I was just reading the book last night about the Yellow-throated Warbler. The Yellow-throated Warbler , according to the book, prefers bottomland woods but each subspecies apparently prefers different tree species. From my experience, as Wilbur said, the Yellow -throated Warbler is frequently seen around Sycamore Trees (bordering water) in places along the C & O Canal. I think we have 2 subspecies in Maryland. One subspecies likes Sycamore Trees. I think the other subspecies which I believe is found in the more eastern and southern part of Maryland (like Eastern Shore and Southern Western Shore) may prefer habitat including pine trees (near water?) and not Sycamore Trees. I do not have much experience with Yellow-throated Warblers outside the area around the C & O Canal. Maybe others with more direct knowledge will comment.
