Balestri" Subject: Interesting New Yard Bird Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit I live in an oak/maple deciduous forest near Gambril State Park, so I was quite surprised to have two mallards, one male, one female, land in my yard this morning. They stuck around for about 30 minutes on high alert and flew off when my husband cracked the window and made a slight noise. Both looked healthy, so I don't know what was going on with them--maybe a hawk buzzed them as they were flying by and they decided to put down. I never thought I would have mallards for a yard bird up here! -- Marcia E.
