This area is west of Hagerstown and can be reached by exiting I-70 at Clear Spring (Exit 18) and proceeding north on Rt 68 through town to Broadfording Rd. Go right on Broadfording and left on Blair Valley Rd. past its intersection with Hanging Rock Rd. Shortly there is a lake on the left. Just before reaching the lake, angle left on a gravel lane and park. Walk toward the path that runs between the upper lake and the wetland below the lake. The bird was seen on a group of rocks along the edge of the wetland between a concrete outflow facility and the woods. It did not remain out in the open and was not relocated. This bird would be expected to spend its time in thick underbrush and may require some effort to locate. There will be some attempts to find it tomorrow morning and the results will be posted as soon as possible. Paul O'Brien Rockville, Mont.
