This area is accessed from Maryland Point Road. About 900 nesting Great Blue Herons are estimated to be nesting in this lovely location. Other birds in the general area were a singing Barred Owl, Great-crested Flycatchers, Eastern Kingbird, White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireos. Bald Eagles are common down in this part of the state. Other raptors observed were Red-shouldered and Red-tailed Hawks. There were good numbers of Red-headed Woodpeckers, Prothonatary, as well as more Bald Eagles at the gut just south of Liverpool Point Road on Rt. 224. Good Birding.
