It was cool and breezy there as well, and we arrived later than we should have, but still saw some nice birds: Warblers: Yellow, Yellowthroat, Hooded, Yellow-rumped, Ovenbird, and we met some friends that had seen a Prothonotary along the Marsh Trail but it had stopped singing by the time we got there. Vireos: White-eyed, Red-eyed and Warbling (first for us this spring). Also Orchard and Baltimore Orioles, Brown Thrasher, Phoebe, and (on the mud flats) Solitary and Spotted Sandpiper, Greater Yellowlegs and Killdeer. An Osprey kept flying by carrying a succession of large fish (female on nest nearby?) and we also saw a Broadwing overhead. Not a lot but nice to get outside on such a lovely day -- BUT -- it would be nice to have a WARM FRONT come through soon!
