About a block south of Westbrook (just off Kensington) on a log on the creek was a Yellow-crowned Night Heron Saturday at about 6:25 P.M. This is the second time (months apart) I have seen a Yellow-crowned in that part of Rock Creek. I will alert you to a lingering foul odor near the spot as a dead deer was spotted by my son across the creek and the odor lingers. -- Pedro J. Saavedra -- P.O.
