Bird Base is very rudimentary and user-unfriendly in return. Avisys gives the (well worthwhile) option of incorporating the distributional information collated by Bird Area (see http://www.avisys.net/) John Pilgrim, DC j.pilgrim@conservation.org -----Original Message----- From: Frederick Atwood [mailto:fredatwood@YAHOO.COM] Sent: Tuesday, May 01, 2001 8:19 AM To: MDOSPREY@HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM Subject: Re: [MDOSPREY] Bird Listing Software I am also looking into bird databases. Thanks for info. One avid lister I met while birding in Costa Rica suggested Bird Base (Santa Barbara Software Products (phone 805-963-4886) which he prefers over Avisys. Does anyone else have any feedback about this one?
