While per-species numbers were still low (with certain exceptions), diversity was excellent. There were also a lot of birders there (and thus eyes looking...) Warblers: Black-and-White (8), Blackburnian (1 for us,some folks had multiples) B-T Blue (5), B-T Green (2), Ovenbird (15), Nashville (2), Chestnut-sided (1), Magnolia (1), Blue-winged (2), Hooded (1), Parula (1), Worm-eating (2), Yellow-rumped (ca. 250). Seen by others: Redstart, Yellowthroat, 15 spp in all. Vireos: Red-eyed (ca. 35!), Yellow-throated (3, including a pair building a nest at picnic area 17/18). Others: Wood Thrush (10), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (5), Baltimore Oriole (1), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (2), Scarlet Tanager (3), Ruby-crowned Kinglet (1), Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2), Gnatcatcher (2), Great Crested Flycatcher (1), Eastern Kingbird (1), Cedar Waxwing (ca. 100), Indigo Bunting (5). If it continues to be warm with southerly winds today, could be very good tomorrow -- IF (a big if) they just don't keep on goin' Cheers, Gail Mackiernan and Bary Cooper Colesville, MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
