Hi All:
Some nice birds on a rather hurried expedition this AM. At Bethel WMA,
both ORCHARD and BALTIMORE ORIOLE were present, my first EASTERN
KINGBIRD, PEEWEE and WOOD THRUSH of the season. SWAMP SPARROW were very
obvious in what may have been distraction behaviour. On the
impoundment, COMMON MOORHEN, WOOD DUCK and GREEN HERON.
At Courthouse Point, I was pleased to flush an AMERICAN BITTERN, then
get on it with the scope for great viewing as it tried to do its`
disappearing act in reeds on the opposite edge of the impoundment.
SPOTTED SANDPIPER gave their " peet weet " call as they took flight.
SWAMP SPARROW were very obvious here at CHP as well. GREAT EGRET was on
the impoundment.
