Because Dorchester resident birders are almost accidental and since most Maryland birders are faithful to their own counties (as they should be) this largest of state counties usually is covered by one party the day of the statewide count. If you want to help there are important areas that need coverage: Cambridge, Cook's Point and the Neck District, Bishop's Head, Taylor's Island, the Hurlock wastewater ponds and anywhere else north of Route 50 (Eldorado, Brookview, Marshyhope Creek, Beulah). I may even have a seat in my own car or a bed at our Talbot County vacation home. If interested please reply to: harryarmistead@hotmail.com until May 10. Or call 215-248-4120. Or after Thursday afternoon, May 10, call: 410-745-2764. My dream is to someday have enough parties to "compete" with the counties that every year have 40 or 50 observers instead of Dorchester's usual 2-4 in one party. Thanks for listening.-Harry Armistead, 523 E.
