However, when one of those raptors is a MISSISSIPPI KITE, you can be content with low numbers. It was our first Kite of the season and our first full adult, likely a male. It arrived at 11:24 am and stayed in view for about 2 minutes. Big passerine movement this morning including about 300 Bobolinks, 300 Cedar Waxwings, 18 Solitary Sandpipers, and a bunch of Eastern Kingbirds. Also, a Red-throated Loon. 5/5/2001 Saturday OS 11 MK 1 NH 1 SS 7 ML 1 TOTAL 21 HOURS 7.5 YEAR-TO-DATE BV 274 TV 4432 OS 396 MK 1 BE 49 NH 74 SS 1856 CH 402 RS 226 BW 567 RT 311 AK 331 ML 46 PG 1 U 49 TOTAL 9015 HOURS 375.4 Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD.
