Tyler Bell mailto:bell@acnatsci.org California, MD >>> "NRDC news" 05/09/01 11:35AM >>> Greetings from the Natural Resources Defense Council. The following is an urgent action alert that we felt compelled to share with you because it represents a great opportunity to send President Bush a message about global warming. You probably know that President Bush broke his campaign promise to cut CO2 emissions from power plants, the largest source of greenhouse gases in the U.S. Now the president is faced with a proposal to control emissions from motor vehicles, the second largest source of global warming pollution, and this time we all get to weigh in. The EPA is accepting comments until May 23rd on a petition to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles. The petition requests that the agency use a provision of the Clean Air Act to regulate the emissions of carbon dioxide and other global warming pollutants from new cars, SUVs, and light trucks. Please help us send a strong message to President Bush and the EPA.
