A flock of at least 65 Bobolinks was on the south side of Lilypons Rd., halfway between the bridge and Rte. 85. More than 50 were in two big trees in a field, a half-dozen were on fences and utility wires and others (quite a few from the sound of it) were feeding out of sight in the high growth in the field. On the same fences were at least two singing Grasshopper Sparrows. There were House Wrens galore on most of the two-mile section of the C&O Canal I walked downstream from Noland's Ferry parking area--I was rarely out of earshot of 2 or 3. Dick Homan Bethesda, Md.
