In the evening I heard 2 Veeries and 2 Wood Thrushes overhead. The previous night I heard 2 Swainson's Thrushes. 5/10 A much better day. A Swainson's and 2 breeding Wood Thrushes, 2 Red-eyed Vireos, 8 Scarlet Tanagers, 9 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, an Indigo Bunting, a White-crowned Sparrow (the first ever in 31 years of birding UWBP!), a Baltimore Oriole and the following warblers: 2 Parula, Yellow, 2 Chestnut-sided, 3 Magnolia, 2 Black-throated Blue, 3 Yellow-rumped, Black-and-White, Redstart, Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush and Yellowthroat. Listen to the skies tonight. With southerly winds and a bit of overcast, there could be lots of thrushes flying by. Paul O'Brien Rockville, Mont.
