This time it was to Great Falls Park in Montgomery Co. (was supposed to be Old Rag in Shenandoah, but oh well) We didn't arrive until 10 so I wasn't expecting to see much, but I did hear a surprising number of birds. Just about 0 migrants. Bird highlights were 2 Summer Tanagers, one on the Billy Goat Trail and another on the Woodland Trail. The bird on the Billy Goat Trail was a bright male, but I didn't see the other one. Both were "pickity-tuck"ing. Non bird highlight was very cooperative Copperhead that Kim found on the Billy Goat trail. It sat in little crevice allowing me and others decent looks at this life herp. Also Zebra Swallowtails were EVERYWHERE. We estimated about 85 for the day. I don't know if anyone did Great Falls at a better time of day for May Count, but if not, someone let me know and I'll submit my list.
