Some other goodies as well. 21 species of warbler were tallied, as well as five 20 vireo species. Top birds, TWO Mourning Warblers, Philadelphia Vireo. This is in the area of picnic areas 17/18, horse corral, nature center and adjacent woods. The counts reflect ours plus those seen/heard by Ottavio Janni before we arrived. Warblers: Yellow-rumped (ca. 80), Redstart (40), Magnolia (35), Blackpoll (12), Black-throated Blue (12), Black-throated Green (6), Black-and-White (7), Blackburnian (1), Chestnut-sided (6), Canada (5), Cape May (1), Wilson's (2), Ovenbird (8), Yellowthroat (5), Yellow (1), Prairie (1), Wormeating (1), Nashville (1), Tennessee (1), Louisiana Waterthrush (1), Mourning Warbler (2, one well-seen, singing, and while we were watching that one another zipped by us calling and scolding). Vireos: Red-eyed (20), White-eyed (1), Yellow- throated (male at ridge), Warbling (2), Philadelphia (1). Thrushes: Wood (8), Gray-cheeked (1), Swainson's (1) (Where are they??). Rosebreasted Grosbeak (1), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (1), Scarlet Tanager (8), Great Crested Flycatcher (6), Acadian FC (2), Wood-pewee (6), Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2), White-crowned Sparrow (3, one singing), Overhead: Black-crowned Night-heron and Solitary Sandpiper.
