I'm just getting back into the list. Our count for Gwynn Falls/Leakin Park area of Baltimore on Saturday was actually pretty stunning. Elise and Paul Kreiss and I did the count, and while we didn't have large numbers, our diversity was good. We had 71 species for the day, including 17 species of warblers. At spring count, Leakin Park always yields something exciting - last year it was an Olive-sided Flycatcher; this year it was a Golden-winged Warbler. Also new to the survey project was a Solitary Sandpiper. Thrushes were: veery - 10 swainson's thrush - 3 wood thrush - 14 am. robin - 20 Warblers: golden-winged - 1 parula - 4 yellow - 2 chestnut-sided - 2 magnolia - 4 b-throated blue - 4 b-throated green - 1 Blackburnian - 2 prairie - 1 bay-breasted - 4 blackpoll - 3 Am. redstart - 1 ovenbird - 1 n. waterthrush - 1 c. yellowthroat - 10 hooded - 2 Wilson's - 1 Other interesting migrants included: scarlet tanager - 6 r-b grosbeak - 3 indigo bunting - 4 Baltimore oriole - 3 Scott Crabtree Baltimore, MD ruffleg@empire.eclipse.ncsc.mil ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
