Schwarz" Subject: Green-winged Teal in Howard By the grace of Comcast, I actually HAVE Internet connectivity this evening, which hopefully will NOT disappear before I complete this post, like happened last week ... A spectacular male Green-winged Teal was at the west end of the lake in Howard County's Centennial Park this morning at 0715. It was between the two westernmost islands. Willow Flycatchers arrived at the west end of Centennial on Tuesday, 15 May (I didn't have connectivity then!), as well as Warfield Pond Park in western HowCo. The Common Moorhen was still present at Warfield on Tuesday morning. It was on the shore opposite the gazebo, in plain sight. Thanks for the tip, Bonnie, Bob, and Jo!!! The west end of Centennial also hosted this morning two Spotted Sandpipers, no shortage of Yellow Warblers, and a vocal Yellow-breasted Chat. On Saturday's May Count, Meadowbrook Park hosted a single male Blue Grosbeak and 31+ Bobolink. The sheer exuberance of their song STILL lifts my spirits!!!! Oddly, no Bluebirds to be seen. Signing off, who knows when I'll get to post again... -Kurt Schwarz Howard County white-crown@home.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
