This was best viewed from the end of South Division Road (right off Philadelphia Avenue a little before the Oceanic Hotel). There were also c. 20 Purple Sandpipers here. Also around the inlet we saw 4 Red-throated Loons, 2 Surf Scoters and 15 Gannets out to sea, and a flyby Sooty Shearwater headed north close inshore (is this an early record?). For anyone planning to see the Loon this weekend, note that there is some kind of classic car rally in town and the roads there (and on the way) are very busy. Good luck, John ***************************************** John Pilgrim Research Associate Conservation Biology Center for Applied Biodiversity Science Conservation International 1919 M Street NW Suite 600 Washington DC 20036 USA Tel: ++202-912-1534 Fax: ++202-912-0773 e-mail: j.pilgrim@conservation.org ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
