I suspect the rain in the=20 region the past few days may have her pinned down. Quite amazing as this=20 transmitter is well past the expected life of the battery. Unfortunately, I have heard that CCRT is really hurt for lack of funding so=20 its unlikely that we'll get to follow these birds for another year. =20 But I do thank them for sharing this interesting project with us. Again, sen= d=20 our comments, etc. to CCRT c/o Jack (info. below). ****************************************************************************= ** From:=A0 =A0 jcibor1@gl.umbc.edu (Jack Cibor) To:=A0 =A0 jcibor1@gl.umbc.edu Hello folks, There is a new map posted for 24093 today. She is only 125 miles short of her nesting area from last year. Hopefully her transmitter will last long enough for us to go out and see her. A couple attempts to locate the other Maryland bird that should have been back a few weeks ago near last years nest have been unsuccessful. Although I did see a broad-winged hawk nest this morning out in Alleghany County, Maryland and could hear a Broadwing=20 calling. (for those of you who don't believe me Aaron Haines will back my story up). Any how here is a link to the map. The new data is from about 6 am to 8 am this morning. http://www.ccrt.org/HTML/Broad-WingedMAP.htm Jack Cibor GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist Center for Conservation Research and Technology UMBC Room 105 TRC Building 5200 Westland Blvd. Baltimore, Maryland 21227 410-455-8046 jcibor1@gl.umbc.edu www.ccrt.org J.
