MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit After this morning's rain a good many migrants appeared in our yard - several R-e Vireos; Swainson's Thrush; Redstart; Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, Parula, Yellow, Magnolia, Black-poll, and a late Myrtle Warbler; and Indigo B. This is the best showing we've had this season and perhaps the fall-out was general all over the city. I am happy to see that so many people have had a chance to enjoy the Mississippi Kite at Patuxent. Ironically, this is not even a county bird for me, having seen one in Aquasco 3 years ago. As far as age, I thought that in flight the tail showed no barring, nor the under-wing any of the brown color of the sub-adult, and the upper fore-wing was as white as it gets - so it seemed like an adult to me. That night I could not get the image of it soaring out of my head.
